Specialized Pilates Classes

We also offer Pilates classes focusing on certain individuals.  Each class is offered on both group classes as well as private sessions.  Our instructors have undergone specialized training in order to focus their teaching on these specific areas.

 

Pilates for Golfers

This class focuses on strength and toning for golfers.  Pilates is not only a great way to get in shape before the weather gets nice, but is also a great way to strengthen your core while increasing overall toning required for a powerful golf swing.  The class focuses on proper pelvic placement and increased core strength to create a more fluid stroke.  The class also incorporates injury prevention for the rotator cuff and other areas frequently injured during golfing.  

Pilates for golfers is available as a mat class for a group of clients at both the Total Body Pilates studio or at the green.  Private and Semi-Private Reformer sessions are also available.  Please inquire if you are interested in these classes and for the current schedule.

 

Pilates for Extreme Athletes

 This Pilates class is done one-on-one with a personal instructor and is focused on strengthening the entire body.  Fast paced workouts and use of the Pilates Reformer machines makes this workout excellent and challenging for all athletes while still protecting the joints.  Many famous athletes are turning to Pilates to improve their strength and to stay in great shape during the off-seasons.  Each class is tailored to the athlete, however, prior athletes that have turned to Total Body Pilates have ranged from many sports including volleyball, dancers, football, and baseball.

 

Prenatal Pilates

 This Pilates class is designed for the mommy-to-be.  The workout focuses on gentle movements that still create a challenging workout while working around the constantly changing body.  Extremely safe for both the baby and the mother, prenatal pilates will also help the new mom to get back into pre-baby body quicker after the baby is born.
